Air Terminal Services acting CEO, Hare Mani says that the services at the Nadi International Airport remain normal.

Mani says the only delays that flights are having is due to mechanical issues.

Mani says their catering services also continue.

When asked if any resolution has been found with the ATS Employees Trust, Mani says there has been no progress.

He says the mediation section from the Ministry of Employment was to call them but it has not happened and he presumes that there will not be anything probably till Tuesday.

He says about 25 staff that had walked off their jobs two weeks ago have returned to work.

Mani says close to 1100 people have shown interest in taking the temporary positions at ATS.

He adds that they have not made any appointments as yet.

Meanwhile, earlier in the week the ATS Employees Trust wanted an independent mediator to handle the mediation process between the ATS Management and workers that were locked out on the 16th of this month.

ATS Employees Trust Secretary Vili Finau says they are calling for an independent mediator because they seem to be going nowhere with the current mediator.

The Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations is currently the mediator in the negotiation process between the two parties.

Minister for Employment Jone Usamate had confirmed they are willing to get an independent mediator to allow both parties to reach common ground.
