Seruiratu tells protocol trainees to know Fiji intimately and love their country

In his first engagement as Minister for Foreign Affairs Inia Seruiratu has told government officials that they need to know Fiji intimately and have all the knowledge that is needed to disseminate information to others.

The minister was speaking at the opening of the Protocol, High Level Visits Planning and VVIP Drivers training held in Suva today.

Seruiratu has told participants they must love their country and have the willingness to serve their country.

He says the world is constantly changing and Fiji must stay relevant on an international level.

Deputy High Commissioner of New Zealand to Fiji Halia Haddad who was also present at the opening says it is important to underline rules and norms in the diplomatic arena to provide structure and certainty.

The training which is organised by the Fijian and New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs will outline topics such as Diplomatic Relations and Protocol, Diplomatic Correspondence, etiquette, and VVIP Drivers training.

It will be conducted by three facilitators from New Zealand.
