Serious concerns have been raised regarding the inhumane behaviour of some people as two dogs were hit by vehicles in separate incidents and were left on the roadside with severe injuries.

In one incident, a dog passed away after getting hit by a car at Veiuto Road in Nasese.

The dog was picked by a staff of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The SPCA is calling on the owner to come forward to give the dog a proper burial.

In another incident, the SPCA team rescued a dog in Davuilevu today.

The team was notified that the dog had been lying in a drain since Saturday.

The SPCA is calling on drivers to be more considerate on our roads and drive cautiously.
