Fiji Airways Flying Fijians star, Semi Radradra was named the 2019 Flying Fijians Player of the Year at the Fiji Rugby Awards that was held at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

Radradra was part of the Flying Fijians team to the 2019 Rugby World Cup where he showed off some of his brilliant skills which earned him a reputation as one of the best attacking rugby players in the world.

Radradra is the only Fijian player to play in three World Cups including the Rugby World Cup, World 7s Rugby World Cup and the Rugby League World Cup.

Receiving the award on Radradra's behalf was Radradra's uncle, Peni Basalusalu who stated that Radradra has always loved the game of rugby since he was young and receiving the award on his behalf is something unexpected.

Basalusalu says he attended this event just to represent Radradra but hearing his named called out, shows how much commitment Radradra has put in his rugby career.

Radradra is currently playing for French club Bordeaux Begles in the French Top 14 competition.

Meanwhile, Jerry Tuwai was named the 2019 Fiji 7s Player of the Year, Raijeli Daveua recieved the 2019 Fijiana 7s Player of the Year award, Sereima Leweniqila was named the 2019 Fijiana Player of the Year while Fiji Latui coach Senirusi Seruvakula received the 2019 Coach of the Year Award.
