Sefanaia Cikamatana: From Year 4 dropout to successful carrier business owner since 1983

Sefanaia Cikamatana from Taviya Village in Ovalau only reached Year 4 but has been successfully running a carrier business with his family since 1983.

Cikamatana attended Levuka Public School.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Cikamatana says after leaving school at a young age, he joined a garage in Levuka owned by Jay Singh, where he began learning new skills as a mechanic.

Cikamatana says the mechanical knowledge he gained has helped his family start their carrier business, transporting villagers from Taviya and other nearby villages to Levuka Town.

The father of weightlifter Eileen Cikamatana says despite facing many challenges, his family has remained focused on running the business.

He adds the business is now being run by their siblings' children.

Cikamatana advises that we should never underestimate our abilities and the strength of what we can achieve in life.
