Secondary Schools competition heats up in the four divisions

As the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Deans Trophy Competition continues, in all four zones around Fiji, there are some interesting encounters that fans should be expecting this weekend.

With 23 teams altogether that are currently participating in the Under 18 grade in the four divisions, some unexpected results were produced last weekend and it surely has opened up the race for the National finals for these schools participating.

Suva Grammar School, Queen Victoria School, Ba Provincial High School and Cuvu College are some of the top teams that are favorites to make an appearance in the elimination rounds as they lead the points table in their respective zones after the completion of round 4 last Saturday.

In an interesting encounter in the Southern Zone this weekend, Suva Grammar School will be facing the defending Vodafone U18 Deans champions Marist Brothers High School after the Lions beat Gospel High 22-0 and Marist lost against Nasinu Secondary School 30-10.

Queen Victoria School remains unbeaten in the Eastern Zone competition after beating Lelean Memorial School 8-0 last weekend and will be on a bye this weekend.

Cuvu College also made a statement last week in the Nadi sub-zone by beating Ratu Navula College 8-0 while Ba Provincial High School overcame AD Patel College 10-8 in the Ba sub-zones competition.

In other results of the Southern Zone U18 competition last week, Sacred Heart College beat Ratu Sukuna Memorial School 17-7, Latter Day Saints Church College went down to Waidina Secondary School 5-0 and Nasinu Secondary School beat Marist Brothers High School 30-10.

In the Western zone U18, Kavanagasau College beat Votualevu College 19-12 while Natabua High School beat Tavua College 7-3. In the Eastern Zone, Tailevu North Secondary School beat St John College Cawaci 17-7.
