The search has resumed for a person who was trapped in a landslide that occurred at the Namosi Quarry in Mau Village, Namosi yesterday afternoon.

The search was called off yesterday afternoon due to bad weather.

Minister for Disaster Management and Meteorological Services, Jone Usamate had earlier confirmed that four people were trapped in the landslide, two lost their lives and one managed to escape while the other person was still trapped.

He says the two people that have lost their lives are from Tavua and Rakiraki and all of them were working at the Namosi Quarry.

Usamate says they are handling the matter with the Police.

Usamate is advising people to adhere to warnings and refrain from crossing floodwaters.
