Sean “Diddy” Combs pleads for leniency ahead of sentencing

Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs made an impassioned plea to the judge who oversaw his trial in a letter yesterday, one day before Combs is set to be sentenced after being convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

In his letter, he wrote, “I lost my way. I got lost in my journey. Lost in the drugs and the excess. My downfall was rooted in my selfishness. I have been humbled and broken to my core.”

“The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you—I choose to live.”

Each count for which Combs was convicted carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
