Education Minister, Rosy Akbar urges parents and students to disregard unofficial comments on the reopening of schools circulating on social media, and to follow the announcements made by the Ministry.

Akbar reiterates that all schools nationwide will remain closed.

She says there has been a number of recent posts on social media platforms regarding school re-opening.

Akbar stresses that schools will reopen for face to face classes and classroom teaching when we are once again COVID-contained.

She says it is rather unfortunate that some people are taking advantage of the current situation and spreading false and misleading information.

Akbar says at a time like this, we need people to support each other, especially our children who are more vulnerable.

The Ministry says it will continue to provide correct information to all teachers, students and parents through the media.
