Schools to remain closed today
All schools around the country will remain closed today as a tropical cyclone alert remains in force for the Fiji group.

Minister for Education Filipe Bole said that this would also mean that teachers are to stay home as schools will be closed.

Speaking to Fijivillage this morning, Bole also said that the last Fiji School Leaving Certificate paper which was to be held today will also be postponed.

He added a decision will be made today as to when schools will reopen and another date set for the exams.

Meanwhile, the management of the Fiji National University has confirmed that operations of the school will resume as normal this morning.

Meanwhile, Public Service Commission permanent secretary Pramesh Chand said work will resume as normal for the civil service this morning.

Chand confirmed to Fijivillage that the civil service will continue its normal duties all over the country and they will also be monitoring the weather situation.
