Several schools which were badly damaged during Hurricane Tomas will resume classes from this morning.
DISMAC earlier confirmed that 22 schools suffered major damages while a total of 67 schools sustained some damage.
The Commissioner Northern Colonel Inia Seruiratu confirmed that only some schools in the Northern and eastern division will remain closed for now.
He said they are working around the clock to ensure all schools open for classes by as early as next week.
Colonel Seruiratu also confirmed that schools on Taveuni are also ready to open for classes this morning.
