Schools in Ba will not open tomorrow
Schools in Ba will not open tomorrow and have been deferred to another week.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has approved the deferment of classes for students in Ba following a briefing on the effect of the recent floods in the Western Division's soccer town in the past few days.

Prime Minister Bainimarama and other government officials were informed by the Ba principal education officer, Kamlesh Chand that most schools in the Ba areas were badly affected by the floods.

Chand also highlighted that schools in Ba were still without water supply and this could become a hygiene problem for students, posing health risks.

Meanwhile the Special Administrator of Ba has welcomed the decision to defer the classes for students in Ba for another week.

Arun Prasad said there is still no water supply in Ba and some schools which need major clean up due to silt and debris still in the compounds.
