Savusavu Market set to open in early January, with 200 vendor spaces

The much-anticipated Savusavu Market is scheduled to open in early next month, providing 200 vendor spaces for sellers from Savusavu and surrounding areas.

Chair of the Savusavu Town Council, Shiu Sharma has confirmed this to fijivillage News and highlighted that vendors have been operating from a temporary market until now.

Sharma says the applications for vendor spaces are already being submitted, which increases significant interest in the new facility.

He says the market will create many opportunities for vendors, including the potential for job creation and encouraging people of all ages to engage in farming.

The Chair further says that some applicants have expressed interest in leasing multiple stalls.

He adds that parking meters for the market have been procured, with installation set to begin after their registration is complete.

The Council is currently preparing its budget for the upcoming year and exploring ways the government can assist them for future projects.
