Sashi Kiran sworn in as Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection at State House this morning

Sashi Kiran was sworn in this morning as the Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection by the President, Turaga Bale Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu at the State House.

Before this, Kiran served as the Assistant Minister.

Kiran is a long-time social worker who founded the Lautoka-based NGO, the Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND Fiji).

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, were also present at the swearing-in ceremony today.
