SPCA trying to get custody of the dog that was allegedly thrown from a second floor balcony in Raiwai

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Fiji is currently working with Police to try and get custody of a pet dog who was allegedly beaten and thrown from the second-floor balcony of a house in Raiwai yesterday.

On its official Facebook page, SPCA Fiji says the complaint was made by a resident of Raiwaqa who witnessed the alleged incident.

SPCA Fiji says their team went to attend the case with the assistance of the Police.

The organisation says despite all attempts by their staff last night, they were unsuccessful in gaining custody of the dog in question as they could not enter the premises.

SPCA says their staff were threatened with violence.

It says they are saddened, frustrated and fearful for the welfare of the dog.
