SCC tackles $32M in outstanding rates with discount offer for early payments

The Suva City Council currently has around $32 million outstanding rates as of last year.

SCC Acting CEO and Chair of Special Administrators, Tevita Boseiwaqa says they currently have a taskforce working on this.

Boseiwaqa says they are working with their ratepayers and encouraging them if they pay before August 31st, they will get a 7 percent discount.

He says it will be reduced to 4 percent from September.

The Chair says following that they will come up with strategies on how those who have arrears can pay.
