Ryan demands better start from Fiji 7s team
Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan has demanded for a better start from his team ahead of their remaining two pool games of the Hong Kong 7s tournament.

This comes after a mistake from Captain, Osea Kolinisau which led to the first try from Wales in the opening pool match last night where Fiji won 42-7.

Ryan said he is happy that the first game is out of the way but they did not start well.

With rain being forecast for the second day of the Hong Kong 7s, Ryan said they should not be carried away with the win as facing Sri Lanka and Kenya will be a different ball game altogether.

Meanwhile, Fiji is the most successful team in Hong Kong with 14 victories including two World Cup triumphs in 1997 and 2005 and is bidding for a hat-trick to become the first team to win back-to-back tournaments in one leg of the World Series.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will take on Sri Lanka at 5.24pm in its second pool match and then Kenya in their last pool match at 11.16pm.

The Cup quarterfinals will start 3.28pm tomorrow, Cup semis kicks off at 7.52pm and the Cup final will be at 10.25pm.

Looking at the results of this afternoon’s matches, New Zealand beat Samoa 26-7, England defeated Portugal 21-7 and Scotland beat USA 15-10.
