Rice farmers in Dreketi received three tractors, an excavator and other rice farming materials from the Government to help maximise in their rice production.
While handing over the farming implements to Fiji Rice Limited, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, Yogesh Karan says there was a need to rejuvenate the rice industry in the country.
Karan says Fiji was once self‑sufficient through effective agricultural methods and the utilisation of idle lands.
He says this farming materials will assist farmers in land preparation and cultivation.
