Tevita Waranivalu scored a goal and set up another as the Rewa soccer team beat Nadi 2-1 at Ratu Cakobau Park this afternoon and is now four points clear at the top of the Vodafone Premier League points table.
Waranivau gave Rewa the lead in the first half through a header but veteran defender Ame Votoniu equalized for Nadi after some poor Rewa defending.
Both teams were locked at 1-1 at the break.
Peniame Drove then headed in the winner early in the second half after Waranivalu whipped in a beautiful corner kick.
Rewa is now four points clear of second placed Suva who were earlier held 1-1 by Lautoka.
Sairusi Nalaubu gave Suva the lead in the first half but Sitiveni Cavuilagi equalized for Lautoka after the break.
Suva now has 19 points.
In another match, Labasa beat Nasinu 2-0.
Both goals were scored by Ilisoni Logaivou.
Labasa sits 6th on the VPL table with 10 points. Nasinu has eight points and has dropped to 7th place.
