Reverend Kanailagi highlights drop in church membership
Former president of the Methodist Church Reverend Tomasi Kanailagi has raised concerns about the drop in church membership.

Reverend Kanailagi told the church ministers that he is unhappy with the reports and reminded his colleagues to relook at their roles and services to the members.

Acting general secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra presented a church report yesterday, highlighting that the membership in 2011 was more than 200,000 compared to 197,000 this year.

Macuata and Rabi are losing most of their members.

Meanwhile, Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu has been elected as the president of the Methodist Church of Fiji after securing 56 percent of the votes.

Reverend Waqairatu got more than 480 votes.

Speaking to the members gathered at Centenary Church, Reverend Waqairatu said the church will now work together with government to move our country forward.
