Resorts, businesses and homes in parts of Savusavu have been without power since 9 o’clock last night.
The Fiji Electricity Authority confirms that a fallen power pole in Varavu settlement last night is the cause of the unplanned power outage.
FEA says that due to the heavy rain last night, their teams could not carry out maintenance work to replace the power pole.
The Authority says that their maintenance teams are now working to replace the fallen power pole.
FEA says there is no time frame as to when power supply will be fully restored.
