Residents of Nausori to Nakasi corridor to wait few more weeks for completion of 4‑lane route from Rewa Bridge to Nakasi

Residents living along the Nausori to Nakasi corridor will have to wait a few more weeks as the deadline for the completion for the 4‑lane route from Rewa Bridge to Nakasi has been extended to mid-August.

Fiji Roads Authority CEO, Jonathan Moore says 2 to 3 weeks were lost in May and June because of heavy rain.

He adds construction had to be discontinued at night as drivers are still speeding along the highway and are putting the construction workers lives at risk.

The FRA is working with Land Transport Authority to install traffic speed cameras once the work is complete on the entire length to help manage the issue of speeding.
