Reports of students selling glue at school
Reports have emerged that students have been sold glue at their school.

According to Director of the National Substance Abuse Advisory Council Misaele Driubalavu the reports have come directly from teachers of the schools.

Driubalavu said they have received 2 reports so far but believes there may be more unreported cases as this is happening in schools.

Meanwhile, people who sell or supply glue to children will soon be taken to task.

Due to the increase in inhalant abuse cases by students in the country and the fact that most are experimenting with it at a young age, a draft Volatile Substance Abuse Decree has now been prepared by the government.

Driubalavu said consultations on the draft will start from next month.

According to Driubalavu the youngest case they have received is of a class three student who was brought by the Grandmother as she has been sniffing glue.

He said they counseled the child and also spoke to the family members.
