Following the heavy rain in the past week and extensive damage to road infrastructure, the Fiji Roads Authority says they remain committed to undertaking immediate repairs as soon as weather permits, with reinstatement works already scheduled for affected areas.

While responding to questions by fijivillage News, FRA says the recent heavy rainfall experienced throughout Fiji has resulted in significant flooding in several areas.

They say several landslips and erosion have been noted during the current continuous heavy rain period.

FRA says certain crossings have sustained damages and washouts and they with its contractors have been continuously monitoring the road and crossing network.

FRA is stressing to all drivers to drive to the current road condition, avoid speeding and adhere to the road signs and temporary traffic management installed at affected locations.
