The Vanua of Nakelo is mourning the death of its paramount chief the Late Turaga na Tui Nakelo Ratu Manasa Talakuli who was called to rest on the 5th of January at the CWM Hospital after a long illness.
Tui Nakelo's spokesperson Turaga Vakavanua Poasa Ratu said that Ratu Manasa was one of the first Fijians to be commissioned into the British Army and had lived in the United Kingdom with his family for years until his retirement.
Ratu said the 13 villages in Nakelo will gather today at Nauluvatu Village while the i reguregu will begin on Wednesday.
Ratu Manasa was married to the late Adi Samanunu Cakobau and is survived by their only son Josefa Talakuli.
He will be laid to rest this Friday.
