Redundant workers join health, housekeeping corporative
A number of cleaners and laundry staff of CWM Hospital who were given redundancy packages by Health Ministry last week have joined the Health, Housekeeping corporative.

This corporative signed a memorandum of understanding with the ministry last Friday where the former health ministry workers will continue to work at the hospital.

Ministry spokesperson Peni Namotu said due to outsourcing of their cleaning services 98 workers were given redundancy packages.

He added the main reason for this is that the ministry is focusing more on its core functions of looking after the patients.

Similar outsourcings have been done at the Labasa and Lautoka Hospital.
