Rawaca and Tuwai return to 7s duties

Savenaca Rawaca (R) is tackled by USA's Folau Niua (L) in the mens rugby sevens match between Fiji and USA during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and Jerry Tuwai of Fiji on his way to scoring a try.

Olympic gold medalist, Savenaca Rawaca will make his return for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team at the Oceania 7s this weekend.

Rawaca joins the squad after six years.

The 16-member squad also sees the return of dual Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai who missed the last two legs of World Rugby Sevens Series in France and England.

Other players included in the side are Elia Canakaivata, Tevita Daugunu, Semi Kunatani, Jeremaia Matana, Tira Wilagi, Josevani Soro, Pilipo Bukayaro, Waisea Nacuqu, Kaminieli Rasaku, Manueli Maisamoa, Vuiviawa Naduvalo, Filipe Sauturaga, Iowane Raturaciri and Iowane Teba.

Fiji’s first match will be against Tonga at 11.22am Friday before taking on New Zealand in their second match at 5.44pm.

On Saturday, the side takes on Papua New Guinea at 11am and Tonga Selection at 5.22pm. They will then take on Australian Selection at 11.44am Sunday in their final match.

The two top sides will play in the final which kicks off at 6.28pm Sunday.
