Leader of the Opposition, Inia Seruiratu

Today, we honour the legacy of Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna, a statesman whose wisdom shaped the foundation of Fiji’s governance and land security.

The Leader of the Opposition, Inia Seruiratu says his foresight ensured that our land remains protected while fostering national development, a legacy that continues to guide us.

Seruiratu says Ratu Sukuna’s vision was not just for the iTaukei but for a united Fiji, where heritage and progress walk hand in hand.

He says as we reflect on his legacy, we must recognise that leadership is about building on the past to strengthen the future.

He adds that his commitment is to honour, uphold, and advance Ratu Sukuna’s vision, ensuring that Fiji remains a secure and prosperous nation built on unity, heritage, and opportunity for all Fijians.

The Leader of the Opposition says Ratu Sukuna’s wisdom will inspire us, but our generation must move Fiji forward, turning vision into action for a stronger tomorrow.

He adds leadership is not measured by words, but by the strength to unite, the vision to inspire, and the courage to build a secure and prosperous Fiji for all.
