Ratu Naiqama Tawakecolati Lalabalavu was sworn in as President of the Republic of Fiji at State House this morning

The Head of the Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong led the swearing in ceremony.

Newly elected Speaker of Parliament Filimone Jitoko read out the Warrant of Appointment.

Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo administered the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Due of Office

Present for the ceremony were Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica, Members of Parliament, members of the Diplomatic Corps and invited guests.
