Ratoto pleads not guilty to two counts of manslaughter

The driver who is alleged to have hit two women with a vehicle causing their death along Kanace Road in Valelevu last year has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Viliame Ratoto pleaded not guilty to two counts of manslaughter, one count of breach of the zero alcohol limit and one count of disobedience of lawful orders before Justice Salesi Temo today.

Ratoto was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident and was driving even though his license had been disqualified for 6 months by the Nasinu Magistrates Court.

The case has been adjourned to the 6th of next month.
