Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Simon Raiwalui is impressed with the performance of the players that made their debut in Fiji’s 36-20 victory over Tonga in the Punjas Series Pacific Battle.

Fijian Drua players Caleb Muntz, Selestino Ravutaumada, and Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta and France-based Lekima Tagitaivalu made their debut for Fiji.

Muntz, who started ahead of Ben Volavola in the fly-half position, played an instrumental role during the whole 80 minutes and also converted four of the five tries scored by Fiji.

Ravutaumada and Tagitaivalu made the starting line-up, while Cirikidaveta came off the bench to earn his first cap.

Raiwalui says the players handled themselves well, and getting a win in their first match is an honour.

Fiji will play Samoa in Apia, while Japan will host Tonga in the second round of the Punjas Series Pacific Battle next weekend.
