Rabuka calls for positive global representation of Fiji by diplomats

Rabuka calls for positive global representation of Fiji by diplomats

Ambassadors and diplomats have been reminded to move away from the old dirty joke describing them as loyal servants sent abroad to lie for their country.

This has been highlighted by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka during the opening of Fiji’s Heads of Diplomatic Missions meeting today at the GCC Lounge.

Rabuka says Fiji’s representatives must present the world with a true picture of the nation, offering hope and inspiration.

The Prime Minister says the first session will focus on Fiji in the world, and he also stressed the importance of discussing the positive aspects of the country, including its people, culture, singing, and dancing.

He adds while Fiji has faced struggles, it has remained steadfast in its long standing commitment to peacekeeping.

Rabuka also highlighted the need to promote peace within the country and reminded the diplomats that, wherever they are in their careers, they must represent Fiji with pride and integrity.

The event will end on Friday.
