RFMF engineers erect temporary shelters and repair damaged houses in Cogea Village

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces engineers have built temporary shelters and repaired damaged houses in Cogea Village in Bua.

32 families from the village were homeless after the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Yasa and were in urgent need of building materials.

Village Headman Atekini Nairibuli had confirmed that only five house were left standing after the cyclone.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama together with government officials had distributed relief packages in Cogea last week.

Bainimarama had commended the villagers for their resilience and had given assurance that government will assist affected families.
