The Republic of Fiji Military Forces is carrying out an infantry course at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.

Following reports of gunshots and explosions being heard at the military barracks, Army Commander, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai clarified that this is part of the infantry course training syllabus.

He says these are contact drills and they are running the training for a month.

Major General Kalouniwai says they are also doing their training exploding some ordnances as well.
