Quick action from the Lautoka Fire Station team enabled them to save the building rented by the Chicken Express Lautoka branch.

Operation Manager for Chicken Express, Avichel Singh says they have recorded a 15% damage from their assessment and are lucky that the NFA managed to control the fire up to their outlet.

NFA CEO, Puamau Sowane says business owners need to take advantage of fire safety awareness programs that NFA can offer to either eliminate or enable the early mitigation of fire damage to their property.

Sowane thanked the public for making the quick call that enabled them to respond to the incident immediately.

He adds it also could have been a major disaster if the firefighters did not respond promptly.

The NFA is carrying out their investigations into the fire incident to ascertain the cause.
