Qiliho reveals new plan to get four Police Officers for each Police Post
Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho

A new 5 year structure in the Fiji Police Force to have four police officers managing a Community Police Post during a shift has been approved by the government.

This has been revealed by Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho while opening the newly renovated Sawani Community Post today.

Qiliho highlighted this after a resident of Sawani raised concerns about the availability of police officers and police vehicles in Community Police Posts.

Qiliho says it is true that currently there is only 1 officer managing a Community Police Post during a shift but the Police Force will build to provide four officers in a shift at every Community Post within the next 5 years.

Qiliho says that this structure is the second phase of their plan as they will first have to carry out the recruitment of 602 new officers in this financial year.

The Commissioner of Police also says the Police have enough vehicles to run their operation however it is unfortunate that they do not have enough drivers.

Qiliho says that some officers are going through the training process to become drivers and they have also included driving licences as part of the recruitment process into the Fiji Police Force.

Westpac Fiji gave $15,000 for the renovation of the Sawani Community Post.
