QVS retains U18 Eastern Zone title after edging RKS 13-10

Queen Victoria School has defended their Vodafone Deans Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby U18 title after defeating rivals, Ratu Kadavulevu School, 13-10 this afternoon at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Both teams were locked at 10-all at fulltime but QVS stole the win with a penalty kick at extra time.

QVS led RKS 10-7 at half time.

Meanwhile, Tailevu North College shocked Lelean Memorial School as they edged them 13-12 in the third place playoff.

The results have seen Tailevu North College, Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School qualifying for the National quarter finals as the top 3 schools from the Eastern Zone.

Looking at other results from today’s finals, RKS won the U14 title after defeating Lelean 27-5, they also beat QVS 17-5 to win the U15 title, QVS beat RKS 21-17 to scoop the U16 title, RKS beat QVS 24-12 to claim the U17 title and they also beat QVS to win the U19 title.

In the Raluve competition, ACS won the U18 and U16 titles respectively.

They beat Dawasamu Secondary School 18-10 in the U18 grade and thrashed Lelean Memorial School 27-0.
