As sea levels are rising, more frequent storms are being experienced and certain plants and animals species are gradually disappearing, representatives from 14 provinces today had a meeting to raise their issues of climate and review their policies.

While launching the two day meeting, Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Isikeli Tuwailevu thanked the representatives for attending the meeting that will benefit their future generation.

The Assistant Minister says the meeting will be focused on putting up plans and ideas that will sustain our future generations from the effects of climate change.

The meeting also focused on the theme of Honouring Natural Resources for the Sustainable Future, Alegilative and Policy Approach.

Tuiwailevu says this theme highlights the importance of respecting and preserving natural resources through effective legislative and policy measures.

He adds that the representatives shared their insights and collaborated on strategies to enhance environmental resilience and sustainability, aiming to create a robust framework that would protect their communities from the adverse impacts of climate change.
