Three prosecution witnesses have told the High Court that a former teacher had allegedly committed serious sexual offences against them.
The former teacher is charged with four counts of rape and nine counts of sexual assault of students between 2010 to 2013.
The fourth prosecution witness who was 12 at the time of the alleged incident told the court that in 2012, the accused had touched her private parts with his elbow when she went to him to borrow a pen.
She adds that the teacher had asked her if she had feelings for him but she did not say anything.
The fifth prosecution witness says that the accused addressed her as baby and honey.
She further told the court that the former teacher had raped her after the library day celebrations in term 3 of 2012.
The 12‑year‑old girl says that she felt bad every time the teacher called her baby or honey and she had told him not to address her with those names.
She says that her friend teased the teacher after which they were asked to turn around and her friend was whacked on the leg with a stick and she was poked with the same stick.
During cross-examination, defence counsel Aman Ravindra Singh put to the girl that she and her friend had popped a balloon for which Prasad had whacked their legs as punishment.
She told the court that only her friend was whacked but she was poked.
Meanwhile, Judge Justice Salesi Temo has asked the state counsel to consider amending the 13th count of rape concerning the sixth prosecution witness.
The sixth prosecution witness told the court that her former teacher had touched her private part twice.
She says that he had also asked her to place her hand on his private part while she stood next to his table sometime in October, 2012.
The 15‑year‑old girl who was 9‑years‑old during the time of the offence says that the teacher had grabbed her hand and placed it on top of his pants.
She adds that the teacher had threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.
The seventh prosecution witness is now taking the stand.
