Prosecution asks for time to confirm how a remand prisoner was released from the holding block

The prosecution in the case of a man charged with one count of aggravated robbery has asked for 7 days so that they can confirm with police as to how a remand prisoner was released from the holding block.

Alipate Koliloa allegedly robbed a person of a purse containing $170 and a ATM card.

It was told in court today that Koliloa was brought to court on the 5th of last month but he did not return to the remand centre.

The prosecution said that the man was accidentally released.

The case has been adjourned to next Friday.
