Prominent kirtan singer Shaanal Divlesh Nand has passed away

Prominent kirtan singer, Shaanal Divlesh Nand has passed away due to cancer related complications.

Nand who was also known as Shaan was 21-years-old and in his young career had already released 4 albums.

His aunt, Sunita Deo says despite his fight with cancer, he had a positive mindset and was very friendly.

She says Nand got along with everyone and was part of several religious and singing groups including the well known Bandish Band, Hanuman Chalisa Group and the Vunika Shree Sidhi Ganesh Temple.

She adds Nand was studying professional accounting at USP and aspired to become an accountant and also further his music career.

Deo says Nand was also being mentored by famous singer, Sumeet Tappoo who has released several musical albums.

Tappoo says Nand was a very promising young artist.

He says his passion for music and positivity towards life was truly wonderful.

Shaanal Nand will be cremated at the Raralevu Crematorium at 1pm tomorrow.
