Prices for fuel and gas to be further reduced from Thursday

Good news as the price of fuel and gas will be further reduced from tomorrow.

The price of unleaded fuel will go down by 6 cents to $2.31 a litre while the price of diesel will decrease by 7 cents to $2.01 a litre.

The price of kerosene will be $1.58 a litre which is a reduction of 5 cents while pre-mix will be $2.18 a litre.

All these prices will vary outside the cities of Suva and Lautoka and Lami town.

A 12 kg cylinder of gas will cost consumers $40.87.

This is a reduction of 41 cents.

Auto Gas will go down by 3 cents to $1.93 a litre.

Industry and Trade Minister, Faiyaz Koya says as the international crude oil prices reduce, the Fijian government is ensuring that Fijian consumers are able to immediately benefit from the reduction and this was enabled by the flexible Price Determination Mechanism put in place. This allows for a review of prices at the end of each quarter or sooner if the price change surpasses the trigger levels.
