SODELPA parliamentarian Mitieli Bulanauca says that the Presidential speech should not be drafted as a tool that may embarrass his Excellency the President.

Bulanauca made this request to the Government while responding to President Jioji Konrote’s opening speech in parliament.

The SODELPA parliamentarian says that the campaigning period is over.

Bulanauca says that President Konrote touched on the 1987 coup where no one was killed however he says nothing is being said about the families of deceased soldiers after the 2000 coup.

Bulanauca then said that the 2006 coup was also not touched in the President’s speech.

He adds that the President had spoken about the 2013 constitution but Bulanauca says that the constitution was forced down the throats of the people.

The SODELPA parliamentarian thanked the National Federation Party for staying steadfast in their position and their vision to help the iTaukei.
