President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere will represent Fiji at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on Friday.
Katonivere will also meet the Fijian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Jitoko Tikolevu and the Fijian community.
He will later visit Fijian peacekeepers serving in the Middle East.
The Presidential visit is also the first after the COVID pandemic forced lockdowns.
He is expected to return on August 16th.
Chief Justice Kamal Kumar will act as President until Katonivere’s return.
