President receives credentials from the Ambassador of Korea to the Republic of Fiji

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has received the credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Fiji, Jin-Hyung Kim at the State House yesterday.

Kim presented his credentials after inspecting a 25-member Republic of the Fiji Military Forces guard of honour.

Prior to this appointment, Kim held the position of Professor at Soongsil University, Seoul, Korea in 2021.

His notable career includes serving as a Naval Attache at the Korean Embassy in Washington D.C. in 2002, and subsequently being appointed as the Commanding Officer of ROKS Munmu The Great (DDH976) in 2005.

He was promoted to the position of Commander of the 2nd Intelligence Brigade, Defense Intelligence Command, in 2009.

Kim took on the role of Chief of the National Crisis Management Center at the Office of the President and served as the Secretary to the President of the Republic of Korea.

Kim earned his Ph.D. in Engineering, IT Policy, and Management from Soongsil University, Seoul.

He completed his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from ROK Naval Academy, Korea, and his Master's in Public Administration from Dongguk University, Seoul, in 1995.
