Parents and teachers of Korovuto Primary School were reminded to work together in building a better generation of Fijians.

While officiating at the Year 8 Graduation and Awards Ceremony for Korovuto Primary School in Nadi, Minister for Education Premila Kumar says that parents play a major role in bringing excellence to their children's lives, and they need to work together with the teachers.

She says teachers need to work with parents so that their children are nurtured and raised with attention both at school and at home.

Kumar says there were also a lot of learning losses due to the pandemic, however, the Ministry has set a pathway.

She adds no one can deny that the past couple of years have been tough with the pandemic disrupting the normal education structure, and she recalled that the toughest decision she made in her life was the opening of school during COVID-19.

The Minister says there were a lot of criticisms during that time, but she is glad that she made the decision at least the children were able to complete the academic year for 2020 to 2022.

More than 90 Year 8 students graduated from Korovuto Primary School.
