Power outage at Navua Hospital after generator malfunction

Power outage at Navua Hospital after generator malfunction

By Mikaele Liga
28/09/2025

The Navua Hospital is currently without power after its standby generator broke down.

The Ministry of Health is working with Energy Fiji Limited to secure a dedicated hospital line, while electricians continue efforts to fix the problem.

The Ministry says they will transfer the six patients admitted at the hospital to the CWM Hospital in Suva if required, but as of now, the patients are in stable condition.

It adds that they have transferred to the CWM Morgue, the deceased body in the mortuary.

The Ministry has apologized for the inconvenience caused to patients, staff, and families.

We have sent questions to EFL on when this issue will be fixed.
