The post mortem conducted for the man who was found floating in a river in Rakiraki last Wednesday confirmed that the man had drowned.
Police had earlier said that the man who is believed to be in his 50's was with his friend earlier when he had gone by the river to relieve himself.
After he had failed to return, his friend had searched for him and found the man floating in the river.
