Post Fiji Limited has received a donation of postal equipment valued at AUD$90,000 from the Pacific Postal Development Partnership, a collaboration between the Australian Government and Australia Post.

While speaking during the official handover, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, Sakiusa Tubuna says the initiative aims to enhance postal services and to emphasise Fiji's strong partnership with Australia to support deeper political, economic and security links.

Tubuna says the coalition government recognises the importance of Post Fiji's work in the rural and maritime areas and highlighted plans for the reconstruction of the Post offices in Lomaloma, Vanuabalavu in Lau that was destroyed during Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016.

Tubuna says the assistance will help be crucial for connecting rural and maritime communities to essential services.

The donation included electronic vehicles, delivery bikes, sorting racks, laptops, conveyors and scanners, which will improve various postal operations.
