All Blacks fans will not see Rugby League sensation Kalyn Ponga in the black jersey anytime soon after the fullback signed a new contract with the Newcastle Knights.

It was long speculated that Ponga was fancying his chances to play at fullback for the All Blacks at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Ponga has signed one of the richest deals in NRL history where he is set to earn around AUD $1.1 million a year.

Ponga says there was a lot of talk in the media about rugby union but he has always maintained that he is focused on the Knights.

Meanwhile, the Newcastle Knights will take on the Brisbane Broncos at 9.50pm tomorrow.
